2007 - Delivered major removal of store space churn and changed the way space was used saving £15m of stock and £2m of store costs in 2008.
2008 - High profile project to create significant new ranging policy to reduce stock across Woolworths by over 30% (about £100-150m) at maintained sales and profit volume. Because of this I was retained during Woolworths’ administration in a select team to recover the brand in the event of a sale.
2005 - I led development of a small store format where new ranging, space, layout and adjacency created higher space intensity (up to 180% productivity increase) and made space for in-store catalogue ordering.
2000-08 - Involved in eight format development projects - one (‘10/10’) rolled out to 200+ stores.
2003/4 and 2007/8 - Key projects for new space systems (part of £7.5m supply systems investment on the SAP Retail platform) with radical change of key commercial and marketing processes and capability.
Annually - Delivered improved space mix and productivity worth an extra category of sales, c. £15m.
Enabled the development of new space mix to introduce 3 new categories to Superdrug (£45m).

The leader of development and implementation of change of the key resource of space in a multi-format and multi-seasonal annual cycle. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, I delivered Woolworths Macro Space Management, commercial space strategy, store layout design and implementation of space change. I was a main player in Format Developments, new store developments and new Space management systems. A key role was advising the company executive and commercial teams on forward space strategy determining future business planning and buying policy. Key achievements:
Responsible to executive for strategic planning of retail space in a chain of 700+ retail Health & Beauty Stores. I led store development, store layout and visual merchandising. Key achievements: Managing space processes and strategy to deliver strategic change and implement Category Management.
